Shillong 02N + Cherrapunjee 02N + Guwahati 01N (05 Nights / 06 Days)

Day 01: Guwahati – Shillong (120 kms / 3 hrs drive)

Arrive Guwahati airport and drive to Shillong. En route witness the Umiam Lake or Barapani - is the biggest artificial lake in Meghalaya in midst of sylvan hills adorned by Khasi pines & peerless beauty.

If time permits visit Cathedral of Marry and Ward’s Lake. Evening free at leisure to explore the region on own. You may take a walk to the famous Police Bazaar for shopping. Overnight in Shillong.

Day 02: Shillong – Mwallynong – Dawki - Shillong

After breakfast drive to Mwallynong, the cleanest village in Asia, also known as ‘God’s own Garden’. With over 80 households, the village gives the ambiance of walking in a well maintained park !  Climb the 80 ft Sky Walk at Mawlynnong village for a bird’s eye view of the Village, the plantations and faraway plains of Bangladesh. You will also be acquainted to the Khasi lifestyle, their culture and economy.

A trek to the nearby Rewai Village is another interesting activity. Walk down a flight of almost 100 steps to witness nature’s wonder, living-root bridge.  The bridges are tangles of massive thick roots, which the local people inter-twine to form a bridge that can hold several people at a time. The root bridges, may be up to over a hundred feet long and take ten to fifteen years to become fully functional, but they become very strong in the process. The bridges live and keep growing and strengthen over time. The useful lifespan of the bridges, is thought to be 500–600 years.

Later drive to Dawki, a village of the Jaintia community whose prime occupation of fishing. Be mesmerized by the beauty of the Umngotriver, the venue of the annual boat race held during March - April at Umsyiem. The Umngot itself is a prime fishing spot for fishermen of the villages. The river is also famous for its crystal clear water, so clear that when seen from a distance, it appears as if the boat is floating in mid-air! The Umngotriver is the natural boundary between RiPnar or Jaintia Hills with HimaKhyrim of Khasi hills over which is a single span suspension bridge was constructed. This is the gateway to Bangladesh where major export and import transactions take place. Enjoy an amazing country boat river ride. Drive up to the Bangladesh border.

Later proceed to Shillong for overnight stay.

Day 03: Shillong – Cherrapunjee (60 kms/2 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee (60 kms / 2 hrs drive approx one way). En route visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak - to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. At Cherrapunjee visit – Mawsmai Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. After lunch at Cherrapunjee, visit Arawah Cave, KohRamhah and Khrem Falls. Overnight in Cherrapunjee.

Day 04: Shillong – Cherrapunjee (60 kms/2 hrs)

After breakfast trek to Single/ Double Decker Living Root Bridge. It takes almost 3-4 hours for the single decker and 5-6 hrs for the double decker Root bridge.

This trek starts from Cherrapunjee and goes downhill. The steps are relatively steeper in two short stretches. Back trek to resort and evening at leisure with local music placed by the local boys. Overnight at Cherrapunjee.

NOTE: We recommend to use proper trekking gears.

Day 05: Cherrapunjee – Shillong – Guwahati Airport Drop (200 kms / 7 ½ hrs drive approx)

After breakfast transfer to Shillong. Local sightseeing at Shillong. Later transfer to Guwahati. Overnight in Guwahati.

Day 06: Guwahati Airport Drop

Today visit Kamakhya temple(If time permits), Later transfer to Guwahati airport

11. In unavoidable circumstances the guest may have to stay back at Guwahati at an additional cost.
12. If there is any early / midnight arrival at Guwahati railway station, we suggest to the guest, considering their security, that they should stay back at the station. Our representative will meet and arrange their transfers at 5:00 a.m.
13. Keeping in mind the road condition of any hilly region, the guest should decide upon themselves (with their train and flight timings) as to when they should start the departure transfer. We suggest a buffer time of 2 hours at least.
